Grub Street has some consulting services, and long-distance critiques have been done before! Thanks for your kind words. -- Lisa Hello. My parents know your mother, I think I have that right, down in FL. I am checking out Grub Street, b/c I have a novel that needs some work. Only thing, I'm three hours away and can't do an ongoing workshop. Not sure what to do to move forward, but nice to hear about someone's much deserved success. I have your book on request at our library, looking forward to a good read. Best-Kristen Panzer (parents are Loughman) I can't wait to read this book when i turn 14 Lisa, I just finished the book on a flight back from California to Philadelphia and I found myself enthralled. The book is fabulous, the characters you created, particularly Miri, are fully-realized and become real people that you truly care about and love. You also captured the spirit of the time and the place that was the Philly Alt-music scene in the late 80's and early 90's - including the hopes, dreams and aspirations of all the bands that got up on stage at Khyber and Dobbs and poured our hearts out no matter how bad we were. I particularly liked your take on the banality and tedium of extended-touring in a beat-up van as a small unknown band trying to "make it". You really nailed that experience - I was the Bass player in the Wishniaks it mirrored a lot of touring experiences and is what finally broke us up. I am looking forward to your next book.
